Version 3.0

Major updates to all lighting. Repainted many things.

I've left the original versions of this online as a scraps for comparison.
See them here > Original > Version 2.0

Respect: *diablo2003 - Mark Brooks is a truly awesome comic artist and it was really a pleasure to work on this. It should have been for his current competition but ya' know life in general kept me from finishing on time. I thought I'd upload it anyway so you guys can see one thing I've been working on and maybe get some feedback. I'm glad to see all of the great entries that did make it in and I wish everyone good luck. :]

Thanks to Mark for holding the competition and letting us use his lines. :worship:

P.s. Thanks Sira for that keyboard shortcut! Somehow it even came in handy in this. XD
...actually, it was even more helpful on the second attempt!
Ahem, it was even more helpful the third time! XDD

Please visit *sirasan for some great tutorials!

Note: All work in this image was done with brushes and different types of layers in PS CS2. No photo-mixing for effects is ever done by me and I didn't use any textures with the brushes for this one.

I like the extreme lighting on some parts and not on others. Iceman, Sunfire and Colossus are defanitly awsome like that... but Sabertooth and a few of the others get a bit lost in all of it.

Hmmm, well, I am still not happy with several things. Personally, I might have said that I think Iceman and Sunfire are too bright. I have seriously considered redoing both of them. I also still don't like the sky, as I was originally intending to put some DoF in there... and well, I think the lightning looks kind of cheesy. I should have stayed with a 1px brush on it and I'm not really sure I need the rest of it at all after doing the one bolt's reflection in the window.

Thanks for saying something, in particular, about Sabretooth because I just noticed where I forget to actually do the brushwork on one part of him.... geas.

Thanks for your comment. :]

Sunfire fire... fires bright. I wouldnt worry about him. I can see why you would think Ice Mans to bright (realistly he wouldnt be that bright) but it gives off an interesting effect still.

OOH I love how soft and glowy everything is... this is very well done indeed! I am in love with the muted colors. I wish more comics looked like this instead of so harsh edged.

Mostly, I think I will redo Sunfire because the definition of his head is seriously obscured this way. I'm not really completely disappointed with him, just a couple of little things. @Iceman: Thank you! :] Hopefully I can update it in such a way to keep that interesting effect and still improve him.

Even though I am still working out exactly what my style is... I'm glad to know that it is getting the reactions I hope for at this stage.
Thanks very much for the compliment and encouragement Ms. A! ^^
